Every church needs a mobile-friendly website. That means having a responsive design and a menu that is easy to use on phones.
Our Resurrect WordPress theme was launched with a very simplistic mobile menu that has been replaced with a new, more modern mobile menu which you can see in the photo above. We released Resurrect version 1.8 yesterday to make this improvement available to you.
We’ve released an update to the Church Theme Content plugin that includes two new translations. These contributions bring the total number of languages to eight. We are very thrilled about (and thankful) for this. Version 1.3 of the plugin includes:
We are very excited to announce that two of the most requested features are now available and ready for you to use. These features are a monthly events calendar and event categories. Let’s take a look at them.
A Dutch translation is now included with the Resurrect church WordPress theme. This translation was contributed by Het Kruispunt, a church in Alphen aan den Rijn, The Netherlands. We are very grateful to them for sharing their translation.
We’re excited to announce that the Custom Recurring Events plugin is now available. This is our first add-on for the Church Theme Content plugin.
What exists right now without this add-on are basic recurrence options for weekly, monthly and yearly. We’ve had many requests for “every X weeks” (bi-weekly, in particular) and the ability to make events recur on a particular week of the month, like “every second Wednesday”. The purpose of this add-on is to meet needs like these in order to save you time (ie. not having to manually move dates forward).
Version 1.2 of the Church Theme Content plugin has been released. It adds new time fields for both users and theme developers. These features improve the order in which same-day events are shown. The plugin has also been made ready for add-ons (we’ll be releasing the first add-on shortly). This information is intended for both regular users and theme developers.
The pricing adjustments we announced last month are now in effect. This will help us continue to improve our offerings and provide a high level of support to each customer while we grow. A brief summary of the adjustments follows.
We’ve released updated versions of our Exodus (1.3) and Resurrect (1.6) WordPress themes. These updates address minor issues and prepare the themes to take advantage of new features in the next version of the Church Theme Content plugin, which we plan to release this month along with the Custom Recurring Events add-on.
You can update by going to Dashboard > Updates in your WordPress admin area. You will need to have an active license key for the updates to show.
One of the WordPress plugins I use on two sites had an update. On the first site, it updated fine as always. On this site (which is hosted on a different server), the plugin update failed with an error message that I had not seen until today.

Sometimes WordPress file and permission errors can be tricky but the solution for this was pretty simple.
