Theme Updates: Exodus 1.3 and Resurrect 1.6

We’ve released updated versions of our Exodus (1.3) and Resurrect (1.6) WordPress themes. These updates address minor issues and prepare the themes to take advantage of new features in the next version of the Church Theme Content plugin, which we plan to release this month along with the Custom Recurring Events add-on.

You can update by going to Dashboard > Updates in your WordPress admin area. You will need to have an active license key for the updates to show.

How Joe Built His Church’s New Website With Zero WordPress Experience

The Tabernacle Church

We love to see how churches are using our WordPress themes to build their new websites. What Joe Mendes has done with his church’s website really caught my eye. Joe is the Media Director at The Tabernacle, located in and around Clarksville, TN with multiple campuses. He had no prior experience with WordPress and yet he built something very nice with ease.

I had no experience working with WordPress when I took on the task of creating the new site. The good news; however, was the Resurrect theme had virtually no learning curve. Joe Mendes

Joe was generous with his time in allowing me to interview him for this latest of our Showcase posts. Learn from Joe what it’s like building a church website with one of our WordPress themes.

Toronto Church Website Refreshed With Urban Design

Every Nation GTA Website

Every Nation GTA was one of the first churches to use the Resurrect theme when we launched a few months ago. Located in downtown Toronto, the theme’s urban-inspired design is suited to their church’s personality. They have done a fine job organizing their content and giving their website a polished look with the insertion of their logo and the use of quality photography.

Today you will meet the men responsible and hear how they utilized WordPress and our theme for their new church website.

We’ve had great feedback from those within our church and even those not part of a church at all. It is a stylish, yet simple design… Richard Kidger, Associate Pastor

Presentation of Igreja Batista Parque Industrial’s new website

In our first Showcase post, we take a look at how a church in Brazil is using our Resurrect WordPress theme for their new church website.

Daniel Gardner built Igreja Batista no Parque Industrial‘s website and was kind enough to let us interview him. He is part of Ministre, an organization with the goal of helping churches in Brazil build websites and distribute sermons. They contributed the Portuguese translation included with Resurrect and the Church Theme Content plugin that other churches are now benefiting from.

Behind churchthemes.com

Note: This article was originally published on my personal blog. It has since been archived here on the churchthemes.com blog. Read our newer About Us page.

We launched churchthemes.com and the Resurrect WordPress theme earlier this week.

There is not yet a blog at churchthemes.com (it was a greater priority to launch ASAP). If we did have one, I would have made an official-looking launch post. Instead, I want to share here on my personal blog about what’s behind the project. In short, I want to speak my mind about starting a business, development philosophy, pricing models, web hosting and marketing. And I want to tell it a bit like a tale.

It all started about one and a half years ago…
