Livestream, New Translations and Google Maps Fix

livestream-translations-mapsfix

All of our themes have been updated. These updates add mobile support for Livestream, German and Finnish translations and fix a recent issue with some Google Maps not appearing.

Mobile Livestream

Many churches use Livestream for online services. They provide an embed code for their player. Our themes let you copy/paste an embed code for a sermon. Popular services like YouTube, Vimeo, SoundCloud and others have been responsive (mobile-friendly) from the start. We’ve now added support to make Livestream embeds mobile-friendly.

If there are any other media services you use, let us know and we’ll see about adding support for them too.

New Translations

  • A German translation by Michael Wildenhain has been added to Exodus. The Church Theme Content plugin (managing sermons, events, etc.) already has a German translation.
  • A Finnish translation by Kaj Kiviniemi has been added to Resurrect. We still need a Finnish translation for the Church Theme Content plugin.

To activate a translation, go to Settings > General and choose your language at the bottom.

We’re grateful to these contributors for sharing their translations with churches speaking the same language. If you want to contribute a translation for inclusion with the theme, please get in touch. It will save other churches a lot of time by not having to make their own! And we’ll be glad to credit you with a free license renewal or a copy of the Custom Recurring Events plugin as a way to say thanks.

Google Maps Fix

Google recently made a change to their maps API that did not play well with our themes. As a result, some maps stopped showing. We’ve applied a fix for this to all themes. The issue may or may not have affected your website but it is always a good idea to update to the latest version of a theme, plugin or WordPress to keep things running smoothly.

How to Update

Updating is easy. Just go to DashboardUpdates and click to update. If you’re not seeing an update available, go to Appearance > Licenses and make sure your license key is active. See the Updates guide for more information.
