One of the best things about WordPress is the availability of plugins. There are more than 30,000 plugins in the plugin directory at WordPress.org.
- You can search for plugins directly in your WordPress admin area by going to Plugins > Add New. There is a button to install a plugin while viewing it. Be sure also to activate it after installing it.
- It is also possible to browse for plugins on WordPress.org in the plugin directory. Each plugin has a page with a download button. You can upload the plugin zip file in WordPress.
- Some plugin authors do not list their plugins in the directory and instead sell them on their own website. This is because the plugin directory is for free plugins only. You can search Google for commercial plugins.
Each plugin has a page in the plugin directory with information about using it and with a support forum.
Please be aware it is not possible for us to guarantee third party plugins will work as expected with our themes (though we do recommend plugins that we have specifically tested). We do not provide support for third party plugins. You can contact the plugin author for help if needed.
