"...a huge hit with our congregation."

Exodus Has Arrived

It’s flat, it’s wide and it’s now available. Give our newest church WordPress theme a look.

Exodus has the same church-focused features as our first theme but with a very different style. Our goal is to offer a wide variety of themes for churches so that there is something to suit every need. Resurrect is geared toward churches that want a sort of urban feel while Exodus is designed to have more of a modern, mainstream appeal.

Two things that stand out are its flat design and wide layout.

Wide Layout

In the preview of Exodus, I pointed out that desktop computer screens are larger than they used to be. Websites should take advantage of this extra real estate. Exodus does just that with it’s wide layout and even wider slider and page banners. This creates a dramatic effect and space for more and bigger text (improved reading comfort). At the same time, the theme is optimized for tablets and phones thanks to it’s responsive design.

Flat Design

Flat design is a popular trend in which there are no shadows, no bevels, no elements to create the impression of depth. Menus, buttons, everything has a flat appearance. This results in a very clean look and we’re excited to help churches achieve this with their websites.

Mobile Menu

Exodus also has an improved mobile menu. Here’s a screenshot. Give the demo a whirl on your phone to see it in action.

Color Settings

We added many options to the Customizer, including the ability to change the theme’s colors. First you’ll choose the Light or Dark color scheme then pick a Main Color and Link Color. The Main Color affects the menu bar, buttons, page banner titles and widget titles.

Footer Location

We recommend posting your church’s location and service times on the homepage (or link to it with a Highlight widget) and in your menu. Users also look for contact details in the footer of a website. Exodus has you covered with the ability to show a map, directions button and service times in the footer on every page.

  1. Wonderful! Congratulations on getting it completed. I have been waiting for the release of Exodus, as it looks just like what we need to refresh the christian charity website I look after. I will be buying a copy later this week.
