Making Renewals Easy

Renewing your theme and plugin licenses used to be a bit of a hassle. You’d get a notice to renew then have to log into your account and re-enter your credit card number before your license expires. We’ve made things a whole lot easier with automatic renewals.

New Features for All Themes

New Features for All Themes

A series of new features and improvements to all of our church WordPress themes has been completed. We spent the last few weeks focusing on theme updates after finishing a set of map improvements to our plugin. The new features include sermon index and child page templates for Exodus and Resurrect (from Maranatha) and an event registration button for all themes. We also updated our sample content to give you a better starting point for your church website.

Here’s a quick rundown of what’s new with the themes.

Pricing Adjustments and the Future

It has been more than a year since churchthemes.com launched. We have had the privilege of helping many churches build a new website, for which we are very grateful. We have learned a lot.

Theme pricing has remained the same since launching. Our themes are not at the bottom of the pricing barrel nor are they the most expensive, but they are on the lower end ($30 to $100 being the general range for professional WordPress themes). It has been clear for several months that a price increase is necessary in order to continue meeting the needs of our customers while running a sustainable business.

Behind churchthemes.com

Note: This article was originally published on my personal blog. It has since been archived here on the churchthemes.com blog. Read our newer About Us page.

We launched churchthemes.com and the Resurrect WordPress theme earlier this week.

There is not yet a blog at churchthemes.com (it was a greater priority to launch ASAP). If we did have one, I would have made an official-looking launch post. Instead, I want to share here on my personal blog about what’s behind the project. In short, I want to speak my mind about starting a business, development philosophy, pricing models, web hosting and marketing. And I want to tell it a bit like a tale.

It all started about one and a half years ago…
